For a long time I thought that these radical religious people had finally given up but it seems that there is still enough live in their argument to give a few more kicks. I started reading the books in the fourth grade. Now I am just graduating from high school tomorrow in fact. It is going to feel really weird not be waiting for the next new novel. During these years I have followed the Harry-religion debate closely. During early middle school there was a piece published in our church newspaper slamming the HP books. Already being a devoted fan I wrote a contradictory piece and published it in the following issue. Latter I found out that the anti HP article had been published while the pastor was away and without his knowledge. He had planned on staying out of the debate because he nothing against the books and disliked disturbances in his peaceful church. This article had made it sound like he was taking sides. Later I heard that my article had been the answer to his prayers.

It amazes me that here we are in the 21st century with a wealth of knowledge and information at our fingertips and still we have such narrow minded, stupid people in the world. The 'Potter' books are all about loyality, friendship, love, and accepting people for thier differences. Aren't these the Christian values that Jesus teaches?

There is a reason why the Harry Potter books are in the fiction section, Its because its not real. If a child can't tell the differnce between reality and Fantasy then they shouldn't be allowed to read the books. To say that the witch craft repesented in the books are a form of religon is a bit far fetch and very midieval thinking. How many real religons have people flying on broomsticks and moving things with a stick?
